Shakespeare's Sonnets
I have been writing Shakespeare's sonnets and drawing initials and decor for them for several years now. I conceived this in 2019 and wrote my first sonnet in July of that year. Since then, I have been continuing, writing in my own italic. I do them not in order, but according to my mood. I do not have a goal to write all the sonnets. There are 154 Shakespeare sonnets in total, but I write selectively. I will probably say something blasphemous, but I do not like all the sonnets)) Therefore, I will end up with fewer than the original.
I had made many, indeed many, sketches beforehand, changing the line spacing and dividing the text into rhythmic parts. But I was not satisfied before I decided to choose this option. I deliberately chose this particular spelling, reduced the “livelyness” and did not “play” with the ascenders and descenders within the sonnet, leaving them only on the first and last lines.
I write sonnets in two languages: English, as in Shakespeare's original; and Russian, translated by Samuil Marshak.
At the moment, 25 sonnets are ready and I decided that this is a sufficient reason to show them. The work is not finished, I will continue and add new sheets.

And some photos of the process.
